More Pictures

Well today we are going to get our Christmas pictures taken in St. Cloud, all six of us. The first weekend was hunting season and I shot the first one on opening day. I helped my neighbor
build his deck so he cut up our deer, all four of them. I think this year I am going to have some of it processed into sausage so that more people will eat it. My freezer is full and there is still some from last year. If anybody wants some nice steaks or whatnot come on over you can have whatever you want.

I like the picture of Zach grazing in his costume. He is crawling better and better, now he is working on cruising around the furniture.

Went to the pumpkin patch last weekend. We didn't stay long just enough to find our pumpkins. In all the hubbub we forgot to get Zach a pumpkin! Whoops. We went to the store later and bought one. tonight Jerome is at a school fun night until nine. Its fun to tease, me and Joanna were talking about what we were going to do for dinner since Jerome would not be home. so we listed off all his favorite foods. It was fun to see him stir.

I'm trying to get in the mindset of hunting this year. I always say I don't care if I bag a deer or not. This year I really mean it. I think the trip would be good to get away for a few days, but its hard for me to leave right now.
I love the chance to have that glimpse of what life is. Man vs. Nature. To get back to what we as humans had to do to survive. O.k. O.K. so we have guns and an r.v. but just for a few seconds wandering in the woods not quite knowing exactly where I am or where I'm going is nice. Or being along in a tree or that heart pounding when you see a deer. Then at night going back to camp to share whatever or nothing to some guys who feel like you do. Yea I want to go up north , but bagging a deer; Not important.

Oh. Zack can crawl. Just not with his arms very well he uses his face a lot. he does get around though. More teeth on the top are breaking though, pretty cool.

I will try to update the blog more regularly. I'm not much of a computer guy anymore so be patient please. Thank you.

Its been along time.....

Well I'm back to update the blog. It has been a busy month so far. Jerome started 7th grade. He has already been sick with strep throat and missed 1 day of school. Zach is getting big. He has now learned to clap and do so big all by himself. It was Josh and mine's 5th anniversary on Friday the 21st. We went to out to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory and then to the Twins game of Friday. Too bad they lost. We went and got messages on Saturday which was really nice but now Josh is saying his back hurts worse today which I think is a little odd. Oh well! Today we went to the 50th Anniversary of Three River Park district which is where my dad works. Jaime, Lon, and Alice also went. Got to see my dad and Zach and Alice got to play together. Boy is he tired and crabby tonight. We are thinking about getting a bigger car so we are not all so crammed together. We had originally thought last spring that our next vehicle would be at truck, but with us having Zach now we are thinking about an ford explorer or something along those lines. So that is the plan for next weekend to go look at cars. I hate dealing with salesmen. If any one has any good car buying tips on how to get them to go down on the price let us know. Well that is all for now!

He sure is a messy eater!

Zach loves his walker!

He loves to go to the park to swing

Jerome's first day of 7th grade with his pink shirt on!
So happy to be going back to school!

Zach likes to be swaddled these days. Isn't he soooo cute!

I'm back

Hello, yes its me. I'm back. I have been working a lot. not much else with me. Jerome needed glasses so we picked them up today. He is not to upset about them, I think he likes them. He looks good in them, but what do I know I'm just the dad. Wow, lets see school starts in a few weeks. I know that because the state fair started last Thursday.
Its been dreary a cloudy, rainy all last week. Not much rain around here, just light showers, mostly all down south. We haven't been going on our walks of late because of the rain. but we got back into it today. the dogs were happy.
Zack is doing great he is so good at sitting up, just the occasional wobbles and falling over. He hasn't crawled yet. I,m just happy he can sit and he likes to do it. we went and got a bath ring because he wont lay down in the tub anymore. It was to hard to hold onto a wet naked baby and wash him at the same time.
Zach is crying a lot when me or Joanna is not in the room. I suppose its a phase and Its not bad except when there is only one of us and we have to get dinner ready and clean, and Zach needs to be held. Part of being a baby. (I know everyone wants to hear me complain, but I am running out of things to say).

I would say things are pretty good, the temperature is cooling and one of my favorite times of the year is around the corner. Jerome will be in seventh grade, Zach is surprising us everyday with new things, our fifth anniversary is next month! Things go by so quick where does the time go! One thing I need to remind myself, live with no regrets. Live so that your children will look at their memories of their family and childhood fondly and happily. Be happy yourself, some things are not worth the effort of controlling in the bigger picture.
OK, more philosophy next time.

Look what Zach learned to do. Sit up all by himself!
Here is Jerome hiding under the couch at Jaime and Lon's. What a weird child.

Quick update

I can't believe that it has been 3 weeks since we have updated our blog. Here is a quick update. The last few weeks have been busy. Zach popped 2 teeth through on July 26th. He is in a new daycare who we really like. Zach has been having some tummy issues so he has been crabby the last few days but I think we finally have everything figured out. I took Jerome school shopping the other day. I thought girls were picky about there clothes and what to buy. I can't believe that it is august 14th already. Zach is 7 months old today and there are only 21 days until school starts. I'm not counting down or anything! Now on to the pictures!

wow what a hot week, glad I don't live down south! Actually I love Minnesota I just wish I live further up "nort" away from the city and closer to the wilderness. right now in Big Lake its a good mix, nice neighbors and all.
This is Zach's last week in his current day care. Things are just not right with the lady we have now. When we picked her we were in a pickle and we didn't have a lot of choices. We did have a feeling about her but we just never know. When we interviewed her she didn't seem to interested in Zach and she mostly talked about how good it would be to have us because she wanted her business to get going. Hello, why didn't that strike a chord with us? I guess we were pretty stressed at the time. In the five minute drive back to our house she called twice to let us know that she wanted to be our daycare provider. Now don't get me wrong she is a very nice lady with a few kids of her own. She says its a Christian daycare. Zach seems happy with her and there seems to be no problems. I can't live with that though. Then two weeks ago she gave her two weeks notice, because we were asking to much of her. Like telling us what he did in the day, and trying to keep him on a schedule.
So, we have interviewed a lot of daycare providers since and we found a very good one. Our Neighbor with four year old twins goes to this daycare also. We feel really good about this one!
Tomorrow, Joanna wants me to go to the fireman's dance in Clear Lake. I told her I'm not dancing with any firemen! So it looks as though Ill be going to the dance. Later!

The last few days I have been framing a house on the side for a buddy and haven't been home untill dark. It's been hot!!! I still said I would do the siding and the tongue-n-groove pine ceiling. Not so bad but the house is in Oglivie. What a drive.
Well today I picked up Zach from daycare and I have not seen him in a few days. I got so many hugs from that little guy! In three days a tooth has almost appeared. Jerome, Joanna, and I placed a bet on when his first tooth would emerge. mine was today (almost). Joanna's was next friday , and Jerome's was two weeks from now.
I held him when we got home and he blurted out "BLA BLA" the most he would say prevously was la la (not from the teletubies neither) or a little dada(I have been coaching that one). I guess starting yesterday he would just roll and roll and keep going.
Jerome went to Grandpas up north untill sunday. He loves it up there. He should have a good time. I bet grandpa will be wore out.

Jerome really wanted to have the four wheeler picture on here(its a few years old), he loves to ride with his grandpa in Wisconsin (Jerome is going to move there when he grows up he says). He turned 13 last month, and yesterday he told me that today's teenager is different than when I was a kid. Goes to show that nothing has changed. I'm sure every kid has said that. The thing I think that's scary for me about Jerome being a teenager is him dealing with more responsibilities and freedom. It's probably harder for me than Jerome, anyways.

Here is Zach swimming on the 4th of July, and Joanna w/ Zach. he is a happy baby

Well this is our first blog. I hope we are doing this right. We will try to write often with updates on Jerome and Zach and what we are all up to.
